Common questions
What is the Great British Summer Savings VAT relief?
A temporary reduction of UK VAT from 20% to 5% on selected family-focused supplies between 25 June and 1 September 2026. See the what qualifies section on the home page for details.
Why does the app refuse to apply 5% to my date?
The relief only applies between 25 June and 1 September 2026 inclusive. Outside that window the standard 20% rate applies, and the calculator will show the standard price only.
Why isn't my children's takeaway eligible?
Only dine-in children's meals from the children's menu qualify. Takeaway and delivery, adult-menu items, shared meals and anything containing alcohol are excluded.
I bought "Business Unlock" but my features are missing.
Open Settings inside the app and tap "Restore purchases". Apple will reinstate any non-consumable in-app purchase made with your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used to make the purchase.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled directly by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have access to your payment details.
How do I clear my history?
Open the History tab, swipe a row to delete it, or use the "Clear all" option. Deleting the app removes all data from the device permanently.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All your data stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I disable adverts?
Adverts only appear in the free version. Purchasing Business Unlock removes them. You can also limit tracking through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, which switches adverts to non-personalised.
Troubleshooting
- Restart the app: swipe up from the bottom edge, then swipe the Summer VAT Calculator card up off the switcher and reopen.
- Update the app: open the App Store, tap your profile, scroll to "Available updates".
- Update iOS: Settings → General → Software Update.
- Reinstall: as a last resort, delete and reinstall the app from the App Store. Note this clears your local history because all data is stored on-device.
